UNITED STATES INSTITUTE OF PEACE (USIP) DELEGATION CALLS ON THE SPECIAL ASSISTANT TO THE PRIME MINISTER ON FOREIGN AFFAIRS

A three member delegation from the U.S. Institute of Peace, led by Ms Nancy Lindborg, the President of the USIP, called on the SAPM today.

2. The SAPM highlighted the steps taken by the present Government to counter the menace of terrorism effectively through initiatives like the National Action Plan; and seeking peace in the neighborhood through focus on dialogue and cooperation. He also underscored steps taken by the Government for Pakistan’s economic revival and good governance.

3. The delegation recognized Pakistan’s efforts to curb terrorism and acknowledged the sacrifices made by Pakistan in this regard. Pakistan’s mature approach towards its bilateral relations with its neighbors was also appreciated.
