Vice Minister of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (ID-CPC), Mr. Chen Fengxiang, called on the Adviser to the Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs, Mr. Sartaj Aziz, at the Foreign Office today.
The Vice Minister condoled with the Adviser for the tragedy in Peshawar this Tuesday, which has brought grief not only to Pakistan but also to China and the world. The Adviser thanked Mr. Chen for China’s continued support in this difficult time, which is a source of strength for Pakistan.
Welcoming Mr. Chen and his delegation to Pakistan, the Adviser stated that Pakistan attaches great importance to its special friendship with China, and the leadership of both countries is committed to further the comprehensive strategic partnership, with a particular focus on enhancing economic cooperation. The Adviser said that the CPC has led China’s stellar economic transformation, which is an example for all developing countries.
Mr. Chen said that China’s relationship with Pakistan is of tremendous value to China and is unique among interstate relations. China sees Pakistan as “a good neighbor, a good friend, a good partner and a good brother.” He said that the CPC has always prized its association with Pakistan, which is demonstrated by its close ties with all major political parties in the country.
The ID-CPC delegation briefed the Adviser on recent political and legislative developments in China, including the outcomes of the 4th Plenary Session of the 18th CPC Central Committee in October.
The visit is taking place in the context of party-to-party exchanges and people-to-people contacts.
