A three member Pakistani delegation visited Ljubljana, Slovenia on 7th September. This was the first ever business delegation from Pakistan to Slovenia

The Pakistani delegation was warmly welcomed by Mr. Ante Milevoj, Director of International Relations in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia. In his opening remarks, he spoke about the increasing cooperation between Pakistan and Slovenia and said that Slovenia was keen to explore the growing market of Pakistan. Slovenia has expertise in niche sectors which can be beneficial for Pakistan.

Representing the Embassy, Ms. Alaa Mazher Bokhair, Second Secretary spoke about business potential of Pakistan and focused on the commitment of the Government to improve the one-window operation for businesses. The video of “Emerging Pakistan” was also showcased at the event. An invitation to Slovenian businessmen to visit Pakistan was also extended, which was accepted immediately by the Chamber.

Leading the business delegation, Mr. Aarij Iqbal, President, CEO of Alpha Penta Pvt. Ltd. gave an extensive presentation on the business potential of Pakistan.

The symposium was followed by B2B meetings with over 25 Slovenian companies in sectors of agro food, logistics, IT, pharmaceuticals, etc. and a working lunch hosted by the Chamber. The event was also attended by a small Pakistani community residing in Ljubljana.

In the evening, the Honorary Consul of Pakistan, Mr. Janez Jelnikar hosted a dinner for the visiting delegation which was also attended by a group of Slovenian tourists who had recently visited the northern areas of Pakistan.
