On the invitation of Mr. Sartaj Aziz, Adviser to the Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs, the Foreign Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Mr. Erlan Abdyldaev visited Islamabad on 26 February 2015. He was accompanied by senior officials of the Kyrgyz Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Foreign Minister Abdyldaev paid a courtesy call on the President of Pakistan, Mr. Mamnoon Hussain, and held delegation-level talks with the Adviser.

During courtesy call, the Foreign Minister conveyed the greetings and good wishes of the President of Kyrgyz Republic. The President also conveyed his message of good wishes to the President and the people of the Kyrgyz republic. The President underscored the importance of improving of bilateral relations particularly in all areas and countering the scourge of terrorism and extremism that will be in the interest of both the countries and the region.

In the delegation-level talks between the Foreign Minister and the Adviser, the two side exchanged views on further strengthening of bilateral relations in all areas of cooperation. They attach particular importance to promoting economic relations, energy cooperation, political-level contacts, cooperation between parliaments of the two countries, regional connectivity through infrastructure development and regional arrangements and air connectivity for the promotion of people-to-people contacts, economic relations and tourism.

The regional and international issues, cooperation at international fora as well as measures for countering terrorism, extremism and menace of narcotic drugs also came under discussion during the visit.
