The Embassy of Pakistan, Rome organized a Business Seminar for promotion of trade at premises on 3rd September 2018. The seminar was attended by multi sectoral delegation. Delegates comprised Mr. Syed Aarij Iqbal, Head of Delegation and CEO of Alpha Penta Pvt Ltd; Mr. Abbas Ali Mirza, CEO of Relacom Pakistan Pvt Ltd; Mr. Mateen Qasim, Director of MAQ International; Mr. Umar Farooq Kazi, Cirrus International; Mr. Zaheer Khan, Noon International Pvt Ltd; and Mr. Rumi Moiz, R&D Precision Exports Pvt Ltd.

At the seminar, a documentary on ‘Emerging Pakistan’ was shown to the participants apart from the members of the visiting delegation. Seminar was addressed by Chief Technical Advisor on Investment and Technology Promotion Office in UNIDO, Italy and the Ambassador of Pakistan.

The Ambassador in his address highlighted the business potential of Pakistan, various opportunities available for joint ventures and investments and spoke about a long history on business relations between Pakistan and Italy.

He gave the salient points of keenness of the new government for promotion of trade and economic activity. He invited medium and small scale Italian entrepreneurs to visit Pakistan.

Among various business sectors, representatives of ENI, ISMAA, and Sparkle Pvt. Ltd. participated in the seminar and held B2B meetings with the Pakistani delegation. The seminar concluded with a working lunch for all participants.

On 4th September, the business delegation visited the office of UNIDO and Confindustria. They were provided an in-depth briefing on the work done by UNIDO in assisting trade. At Confindustria, they were provided basic knowledge of the working of the organization which stands for the promotion of trade with other countries.

On 5th September, the delegation visited Bologna and participated in the FARETE fair. At the fair, they held B2B meetings with representatives of Italian entrepreneurs in various sectors.

The delegation was accompanied by Ms. Alaa Mazher Bokhari, Second Secretary of the Embassy during their visit to Italy.
