Pakistan High Commission, Kigali, Rwanda, organized a webinar on 26 October, 2021, on Pak-Rwanda trade relations, with special focus on trade in tea. Key speakers on the occasion, included Mr. Tony Kajangwe, DG Foreign Trade, host M/o Trade, Mr. Alexis Nkurunziza, Manager Foreign Trade, National Agri Export Development Board (NAEB), Ms. Maria Kazi, JS Foreign Trade, Pakistan M/o Commerce, Ms. SabbaShehzadi, Deputy Director, Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), Mr. David Mutangana, General Secretary, Tea Association Rwanda and Mr. Jawid Habib, President Tea Association of Pakistan. Over 40 businessmen from both countries, esp. from tea and rice sectors participated and took part in the open discussions. Pakistani community members from Burundi and DR Congo also participated as observers.
The discussions mainly focused on ways and means to further strengthen the existing trade relations between the two countries. The two sides agreed upon, frequent interaction between the business communities of the two countries, exchange of visits of business delegations, early finalization of the trade agreements, exploration of full potential of the respective markets of the two countries for diversification and further expanding the existing trade relations.
