Today, a webinar was organized by Pakistan Embassy in Vienna, jointly with Missions in Prague, Budapest and Warsaw, in collaboration with State Bank of Pakistan with the objective of disseminating information about the Roshan Digital Account initiative launched by the Government of Pakistan. It was attended by a large member of the Pakistanis living in Central and East European countries.
Roshan Digital Account is an initiative of State Bank of Pakistan offering innovative banking solutions and a variety of facilities to non-resident Pakistanis, enabling them to remotely open foreign currency and Pak Rupee bank accounts in Pakistan and to benefit from different investment opportunities.
Opening the webinar, Ambassador Aftab Ahmad Khokher said that overseas Pakistanis were an invaluable asset for Pakistan and the Roshan Digital Account would provide them a better opportunity to participate in Pakistan’s economy.
Ambassador Dr. Ejaz in Hungary, Ambassador Malik Farooq in Poland and Ambassador Khalid Jamali in Czech Republic to Hungary also spoke at the webinar. They expressed the hope that a maximum number of overseas Pakistanis would benefit from banking and investment opportunities offered through the Roshan Digital Account.
A team led by Syed Irfan Ali, Executive Director, State Bank of Pakistan made presentations to explain features of the Roshan Digital Account Initiative and responded to questions from the attendees. It was pointed out that the Roshan Digital Account had received a very encouraging response from the Pakistani diaspora.
While thanking the Pakistan Embassies and the State Bank for organizing the very informative webinar, the attendees expressed appreciation for various measures undertaken by the government to facilitate the Pakistani diaspora.
