Women Empowerment in Emerging Pakistan

The Embassy of Pakistan in Lisbon in collaboration with Pakistani female students in Lisbon and the Rotary Club of Benefica organized an event “Women Empowerment in Emerging Pakistan” on 27 February, 2018 at the Mariot Hotel.

A detailed power point presentation was given by Dr. Surriya Manzor, a Post-Doctoral Researcher, on the role played by Pakistani women in the progress and development of Pakistan with special emphasis on the achievements of famous personalities like Samina Baig, Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy, Dr.Jasmin Shah, Arfa Karim, Asma Jehangir, Major General Shahida Malik, Ayesha Farooq, Sana Mir, Naseem Hameed, Shazia Skinadar, Nazia Khan etc.

The participants were also briefed about the constitutional and legal measures taken by the government of Pakistan for women empowerment.

The event was attended by a good number of guests from diverse walks of life and the distinguished members of the Rotary Clubs. The participants thanked the Embassy and Pakistani female students for enlightening them about the bright aspects of the Pakistani culture and appreciated the contribution of Pakistani women in diverse walks of life-politics, sports, science & technology, Arts, medical & education and Armed Forces.
