Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmirwas observed in the High Commission of Pakistan in Dar esSalaam this morning. A sizable number of Pakistani and Kashmiri community including their Tanzanian friends, students, representatives of Model United Nations Youth of Tanzania, Civil Society representatives, Human Rights activists and local media reporters attended the event.

The event started with recitation of the Holy Quran. National anthems of Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir were played. Special messages of the President, the Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister of Pakistan on the occasion were readout by the High Commissioner Siraj Ahmad Khan.

Mr. Ghazi Naeemullah Dar, Chairman Kashmir Committee of Tanzaniaand Mr. Philemon Mweleka from Model United Nations Tanzania, expressed their thoughts on the plight of innocent Kashmiris in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

A documentary highlighting the ongoing brutalities by the Indian occupation forces unleashed in IIOJK, was shown to the participants.

In his remarks, High Commissioner Siraj Ahmad Khan gave a brief background on the disputed status of IIOJK between Pakistan and India as recognized by the United Nations and the international community as well as on the unabated Indian aggression.He urged the UN and the OIC to play their role for the peaceful resolution of the dispute,according to the UNSC resolutions and the wishes of the People of Jammu and Kashmir.

Information material on Jammu and Kashmir dispute was displayed and shared with the participants. The event ended with special prayers for the freedom of Kashmir from the Indian illegal occupation.
