Mr. Ali Javed, the newly appointed Ambassador of Pakistan to Italy, has presented his credentials to the President of the Italian Republic,His Excellency Sergio Matteralla, at an impressive and elegant ceremony, hosted earlier at Quirinale Palace, Rome. Following the ceremony, the President invited the Ambassador for meeting focusing on bilateral cooperation.
Expressing his best wishes for the leadership and people of Pakistan, the President praised Pakistani Community’s positive role and contributions to anchoring bilateral friendship and extended support for mandate of the Ambassador. The Ambassador, while thanking the President for graciously hosting the ceremony, conveyed greetings and best wishes from the Pakistani Leadership to the President, the Government, and the people of Italy.
During the meeting, both sides appreciated shared values and aspirations as well as convergences over regional and international issues as hallmarks of their traditionally cordial and cooperative, trust-based ties. Status of bilateral mechanisms and exchanges was also reviewed while identifying opportunities to upgrade relations in their depth and dimension.

Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations’ falling April 2023, expressed desire to mark the occasion with high level bilateral exchanges.
Well over a quarter million Pakistanis reside across Italy, including 3000 students. Pakistani workforce remitted through formal channels, an unprecedented $857Mn to Pakistan in 2022, ranking 8th
globally (Source:SBP), whereas Italy became Pakistan’s ‘8th
Billion Dollar Export Destination’, with unprecedented $1.16 Billion (Source FBR) for the same period. Italy thus holds top position in European Union for Pakistan, on 3 counts, i.e., community, export growth and remittances.
