Dr. Khalid Ejaz
His Excellency, Dr. Muhammad Khalid Ejaz is the distinguished Ambassador Extraordinary
Plenipotentiary of Pakistan to Portugal with concurrent accreditation to São Tomé and
Principe.
His Excellency, Dr. Muhammad Khalid Ejaz served as Ambassador Extraordinary
Plenipotentiary of Pakistan to Argentina with concurrent accreditation to Chile, Peru,
Ecuador, Uruguay, and Paraguay, from 2020 to 2022.
Dr Ejaz, a career diplomat, holds over twenty years of experience, having joined the Foreign
Service of Pakistan in 1998. During his time at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad, he
had served at Afghanistan & ECO, South Asia & SAARC and Personnel Divisions as Section
Officer, Deputy Director and Director. He also worked as the first- ever Director for the
Friends of Democratic Pakistan, a special cell within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Prior to
his appointment as Ambassador to Argentina, he served as Minister and Deputy High
Commissioner of Pakistan to Australia. Other diplomatic assignments include, Acting/Deputy
Consul General, the Consulate General of Pakistan, Los Angeles and Second Secretary,
Embassy of Pakistan, Kuwait. Prior to his appointment as Ambassador to Portugal, he served
as Director General Americas, from December 2022 to April 2024.
He holds a Masters Degree in International Public Policy from the School of Advanced
International Studies, Johns Hopkins University, Washington DC. He holds a Bachelors
Degree in Medicine and Surgery from Nishtar Medical University, Multan.
Dr Ejaz received trainings from the Civil Services Academy, Lahore (1998), Foreign Service
Academy Islamabad (1999), Japanese Language Training Institute, Kansai, Japan (2000),
Human-Soft Kuwait (2005), Centre for European Studies Strasbourg, France (2006) and the
Singapore Mediation Centre (2007). He completed the Mid- Career Management (2009) and
the Senior Management Courses (2015) from the National School of Public Policy, Pakistan.
Prior to joining the Foreign Service, he worked as a Medical Doctor and Lecturer at the
Nishtar Medical University, Multan. Dr Ejaz was also a visiting faculty member at the School
of Contemporary Studies, the National Defence University, Islamabad and Naval University,
Islamabad.
He is married and has three children.
