85th Pakistan Day reception was held at a local hotel in Dar-es-Salaam on 10 April 2025. H.E. Mr. Cosato David Chumi, Deputy Minister, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation and member of Parliament of the United Republic of Tanzania, was the Chief Guest. Deputy Minister for Education and Vocational Training from Zanzibar and Commissioner General of Immigration, Tanzania also participated. Ambassadors, High Commissioners, members of diplomatic corps, senior officials from Tanzanian Government including the Foreign Office, Tanzanian businessmen, civil society, media and members of the Pakistani diaspora attended the reception.
Speaking on the occasion, High Commissioner Siraj Ahmad Khan briefed the guests about the significance of 23rd March in Pakistan’s history. He also highlighted the main areas of bilateral relationship and the need to strengthen the relationship through collective efforts.
The Chief Guest expressed good wishes from the leadership of Tanzania to the leadership of Pakistan. He expressed satisfaction at the friendly relations between the two countries and underscored the need for more engagements between the two sides.
