In connection with "Kashmir Black Day", the Embassy of Pakistan, Kuwait organised a seminar on 27 October 2024 to express solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK). Pakistani community members, including prominent businessmen, professionals and notables from the Kashmiri diaspora participated in the seminar.
Special messages from the President, the Prime Minister and the Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister of Pakistan were read out. In their messages, the leadership paid tribute to the sacrifices made by the Kashmiri people in their continued struggle for the right to self-determination. The people of IIOJK have suffered countless hardships during the last 77 years and India continues to defy UNSC Resolutions and deny Kashmiris their fundamental rights.
Since August 5, 2019, India has further escalated its occupation by stripping IIOJK of its special status and implementing measures to alter its demographic and political landscape. The leadership also expressed unwavering solidarity with the Kashmiri broters and sisters until they achieve their inalienable right to self-determination. They also condemned India’s ongoing atrocities and reaffirmed unwavering moral, diplomatic and political support for the Kashmiri people’s just cause.
The participants also voiced their concerns on the plight of Kashmiri brethren and highlighted that for the last 77 years, the Kashmiris have been subjected to grave human rights violations. The participants urged the international community to collectively ensure that India must adhere to the UNSC Resolutions and resolve the dispute in accordance with the wishes of Kashmiri people.
In his concluding remarks, the Deputy Head of Mission reiterated that Pakistan values the sacrifices of Kashmiris in the pursuit of freedom and right to self determination. He affirmed that Pakistan will continue to raise voice for the people of Kashmir at all international fora.
