The Pakistan High Commission in Rwanda observed Kashmir Solidarity Day on the 5th of February 2025, underscoring the shared commitment to the cause of the Kashmiri people. Mr. Pervaiz Iqbal Bhatti, Head of Chancery read out the messages from Pakistan's top leadership, including the President of Pakistan, the Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister.
A diverse gathering of more than 100 Pakistanis, Rwandans, Think Tank, media and NGOs participated in the event, demonstrating the global concern for the Kashmir issue. The occasion featured a photo exhibition, spotlighting the atrocities committed by India in the region.
Representative of Pakistan Community Association, addressed the audience, expressing solidarity with the Kashmiri brethren. The event also included addresses from other notable figures. Reports on human rights abuses in Kashmir were prominently displayed, bringing attention to the urgent need for international intervention.
During the event, Ambassador Naeem Khan shed light on the historical context of the Kashmir dispute, emphasizing Indian atrocities, the abrogation of Article 370-35A, and the Indian Supreme Court verdict of December 2023. He reiterated Pakistan's unwavering commitment to supporting the just struggle of the Kashmiri people for the right to self-determination. The High Commissioner affirmed that Pakistan will continue to stand shoulder to shoulder with its Kashmiri brothers and sisters, offering moral, diplomatic, and political support. The commemoration serves as a reminder of the international community's responsibility to address the Kashmir issue and uphold the principles of justice and human rights.
African and Rwandan professors, businesspersons, students and other also spoke and connected resolution of Kashmir issue to the prosperity of the region. A Seminar on the topic “Security leads to prosperity” was also arranged.
