Ambassador Shozab Abbas presented his Letters of Credentials, as non-resident Ambassador — Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Belize with residence in Mexico, to H.E. Dame Froyla Tzalam, Governor General of Belize, in a Ceremony held at Belize House, Belmopan of Belize on 18 March 2024.
In a subsequent meeting with Honourable Governor General Dame Froyla Tzalam, Ambassador Shozab Abbas conveyed greetings of the Honourable President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and expressed his commitment to make endeavors to strengthen the bilateral relations between the two countries. The Honourable Governor General, Dame Froyla Tzalam, extended all possible support of her government to Ambassador Shozab Abbas to strengthen the bilateral relations.
Ambassador Shozab Abbas also met H.E. John Briceno, Prime Minister of Belize and H.E. Francis Fonseca, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belize and discussed the bilateral relations in length.
The Foreign Minister Francis Fonseca, assured to finalize Agreement on Abolition of Visa for Diplomatic and Official Passports and Agreement on Bilateral Political Consultations (BPC) between Pakistan and Belize. Mr. Francis also showed interest to promote new linkages in the fields of Climate Change, Tourism and Agriculture. He expressed to work together in the area of diasporic studies to transform the best human resource into a distinguished brand to engage for multi-level national and international development objectives.
