Excellencies, Esteemed Guests, Ladies and Gentlemen,
Assalam o Alaikum and a very Good Evening!
It is an immense honor and pleasure for me to experience the wonderful hospitality of Kazan and be a part of the colorful Oriental bazaar called the “Russia-East”. Let me at the onset extend my deepest gratitude to the Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan, H.E Rustam Minnikhanov, the Rashit Vagapov Public Foundation, and other distinguished organizers for creating this unique platform for global cultural and humanitarian cooperation. To gather the "entire Eastern world," as the festival is aimed at, is not just an ambition; it is a vital mission in today's world, and we in Pakistan commend this visionary initiative.
Pakistan, like Tatarstan, is a nation where ancient civilizations and modern trends converge. It is home to one of the greatest ancient civilizations of the world - the Indus Valley Civilization. From the soulful chants of Sufi music and the intricate beauty of our truck art to the diverse flavors of our cuisine, Pakistan’s landscape offers a vibrant tapestry of eastern culture. We understand the power of culture as universal language building stronger and lasting bridges between nations. The “Russia – East” festival, which has brought us all together today is a testament to that power. Located on the crossroads of South Asia, Central Asia and Middle East Pakistan is a treasure trove of art, culture, cuisine and music.
However, Excellencies, allow me to state with confidence, that our cooperation with Russian Federation is not limited to cultural sphere alone. It is also rooted in mutual resolve to foster economic progress and international cooperation. Tatarstan is making remarkable achievements in diverse sectors ranging from Halal industry and agriculture to IT and pharmaceuticals. Each of these areas are of vital importance for the economic development of our country.
Pakistan stands eager for further deepening collaboration with Tatarstan offering a dynamic, youthful workforce and a huge consumer market. I see promising potential for joint ventures and knowledge exchange between our two people and sincerely believe that the cultural understanding reached today will serve as foundation for deeper economic ties in future.
In the end, I would like to say that, in the spirit of this festival, let us work to build our common future. I believe that in addition to affording us the wonderful opportunity to celebrate our unique traditions the "Oriental Bazaar in Kazan" will serve as a strong catalyst for building lasting friendship and tangible cooperation between Pakistan and the Russian Federation.
Thank you!
