A reception to celebrate the 84th National Day of Pakistan was held at a local Hotel in Dar-es-Salaam, on 23 March 2024. Ms. Lela Muhamed Mussa, Minister for education and vocational training of Zanzibar was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The reception was attended by Ambassadors, High Commissioners, members of diplomatic corps, senior officials from Tanzanian Government including the Foreign office. Tanzanian businessmen, civil society, media and members of the Pakistani diaspora in Tanzania in large numbers.
The ceremony started with the playing of National anthems of Pakistan and Tanzania. Speaking on the occasion, High Commissioner, Siraj Ahmad Khan briefed the guests about the significance of 23rd March in Pakistan’s history. He also highlighted the potential for further strengthening the bilateral relationship.
The Chief Guest Ms. Lela Muhamed Mussa, expressed good wishes from the leadership of Tanzania to the leadership of Pakistan. She expressed her desire to enhance the bilateral relations in all areas for the mutual benefit of the two sides.
A cake cutting ceremony was held on the occasion. Following the ceremony, Iftar dinner, including Pakistan and local cuisine was served to all guests.
