Youm-e-Istehsal was observed in the High Commission of Pakistan in Dar-es-Salaam this morning. A sizable number of Pakistani community including their Tanzanian friends, representatives of Model United Nations Youth of Tanzania and local media reporters attended the event. The event started with recitation of the Holy Quran. National anthems of Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir were played. Special messages of the President, the Prime Minister and the Deputy Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister of Pakistan were readout by the High Commissioner Siraj Ahmad Khan, and Head of Chancery, Mr. Muhammad Azeem Khan.Mr. Ghazi Naeemullah Dar, Chairman Kashmir Committee of Tanzania and Mr. Philemon Mweleka from Model United Nations Tanzania, expressed their thoughts on the plight of innocent Kashmiris in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). A special documentary depicting the plight of Kashmiris was displayed to the audience.In his remarks, High Commissioner Siraj Ahmad Khan gave a brief background of the disputed status of IIOJK. He also highlighted the brutalities committed by Indian occupied forces in IIOJK since 5 August 2019 and urged the international community to play its role in the peaceful resolution of the dispute. He also reiterated Pakistan’s continued support for the just cause of the resolution of Kashmir dispute. The event ended with special prayers for the freedom of Kashmir from the Indian illegal occupation.
