Pakistan’s bilateral trade volume amounted to US$ 35 million in 2012 and since 2018 it has hovered between US$ 45-55 million. The bilateral trade volume has been highly in our favour as Djiboutian exports to Pakistan are almost negligible. Most Pakistani exports are re-exported to Ethiopia which is the 8th largest economy and 2nd most populous country in Africa (130-million population /GDP US$ 112 billion).
The bilateral trade volume amounted to around US$ 50 million in 2022. Pakistan’s major exports to Djibouti were woven fabrics and cotton (US$ 18.5 million), foodstuffs (US$ 12 million), rice and other cereals (US$ 9.7 million) and readymade textile products (US$ 6 million). Other exported items include confectionaries, chemical products, machinery, rubber and plastic items, cosmetics, pharmaceutical products, ceramic products, wood articles, glass and glassware.
