Ambassador Hassan Afzal Khan along with officers of the Embassy of Pakistan, visited the iconic La Bombonera, home of Boca Juniors, one of the most successful and widely supported football clubs in Argentina and South America, for a meeting aimed at exploring avenues of sports cooperation between Pakistan and Argentina. The Embassy delegation was warmly welcomed by Ricardo De La Fuente, Vice President of Boca Juniors Club and Secretary of Industry and Productive Development of Florencio Varela, along with his team. During a productive meeting, both sides discussed player exchanges and training opportunities, joint sporting activities between the two countries, possible collaboration with the Pakistan Football Federation, and prospects for the direct procurement of high-quality Made-in-Pakistan sports goods by Argentine clubs and institutions. Following the meeting, the Embassy delegation was given a guided tour of the historic Bombonera Stadium and Boca Juniors’ facilities, gaining firsthand insight into the club’s rich football heritage, passionate fan culture, and world-class sporting infrastructure. Both sides expressed their commitment to continued engagement and agreed to remain in close contact to explore concrete areas of cooperation in football development, sports trade, youth exchanges, and sports diplomacy. The visit highlighted the growing role of sports diplomacy in strengthening Pakistan–Argentina relations and opening new avenues for collaboration between the two countries. ⚽🇵🇰🇦🇷
