60th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between Pakistan and Kuwait
Year 2023 marked the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Kuwait. A joint logo was launched at an official ceremony held at Kuwait Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Ambassador Sameeh Essa Johar Hayat, Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs along with Ambassador Malik Muhammad Farooq unveiled the Joint Logo. The same logo was also launched at Headquarters in the presence of Kuwaiti Ambassador and Pakistan’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.
Exhibition of Pakistani Mangoes
The Mission held an exhibition of Pakistani mangoes in coordination with Kuwait Voluntary Worker Centre, chaired by Sheikha Amthal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. The first exhibition was held on 9 July 2023 in its oldest and most populated market Souk Al-Mubarkia. The same exhibition was held on 11 July 2023 in Zahra Cooperative Society, Kuwait in collaboration with Pakistani community and businessmen.
Celebration of Pakistan Cultural Week
With regards to celebrations of 60th anniversary, the Embassy in collaboration with Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) and National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL), Kuwait scheduled Cultural Week from 13-16 October 2023, wherein Pakistani Cultural Troupe comprising of 23 member delegation including famous singers (SanamMarvi, Fazal Abbas Jutt and Rais Ahmed), instrumentalists and folk-dancers, headed by Director General PNCA, Mr. Muhammad Ayoub Jamali, visited Kuwait. However, the musical programs which were a major component of our Cultural Week were cancelled to express solidarity with people of Gaza in the wake of humanitarian catastrophe. Kuwait government also suspended all for cultural and musical events, in this regard.
Exhibition of Pakistan Truck Art
Pakistani Truck Art as part of Cultural Week exhibited through various paintings, at different sites Kuwait including the two walls of Souk Al-Mubarkia, Kuwait City and other public places. Dr. Muhammad Ashraf Khan, Archeologist, National Heritage & Culture Division, Islamabad accompanied by his Director visited Kuwait. During his visit, he held a meeting with Sheikha Hussa Sabah Al Salem, Director General, Dar Al-Athar Al-Islamiyyah; and participated in the Seminar on Cultural Linkages between Pakistan & Kuwait held at Kuwait University, wherein he gave a Lecture themed “Dilmun (Kuwait) and Meluhha (Pakistan) Civilization 4000 years ago”.
