H.E. Mr. K.K. Ahsan Wagan, Ambassador-designate of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Sultanate of Oman arrived Muscat today. He was warmly welcomed by the officials of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Oman as well as personnel from the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan at Muscat Int’l Airport. Prior to his present assignment, H.E. Mr. Wagan worked as Head of Mission at the Embassy of Pakistan, Niamey (Niger) since August 2015. In recognition of his outstanding contribution for promotion of bilateral relations in various fields, Niger Government conferred the highest civil award i.e. ‘order of merit’. The Ambassador-designate holds Master Degrees in Public Administration, Masters of International Trade Law & WTO Law and International Relations. He started his diplomatic career by joining the Foreign Service of Pakistan in 1996. He held various diplomatic assignments including; Kathmandu, Los Angles and Muscat from 2009-2013. He has also served on different desks at Headquarters as Director Economic Coordination (2005-2006), Director Africa (2014) and Director Canada & Latin Americas (2014-2015). In strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries in various areas of bilateral cooperation, Mr. Wagan aims at enhancing brotherly relations as envisioned by the leadership of both countries. Upon his arrival, he has greatly appreciated the visionary leadership of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said in completely transforming the country and making it an “Oasis of Peace”.
