HE Ali Javed, the Ambassador of Pakistan along with all Diplomatic Officers of the Mission, participated in Christmas Service on December 25th hosted by Urdu Congregation at Protestant Church of Oman (PCO), Muscat, to celebrate Christmas. Welcoming the 600 guests, Reverend Zeresh Daniel, a Pakistani resident of Muscat, highlighted the spirit of Christmas and prayed for global peace and prosperity. The proceedings acknowledged 40 Church members for 'Services to Church and Community', 'Christmas Tree Decoration' contest won equally by 5 families and a 'Cake Cutting' ceremony to mark the birthday of Jesus Christ. Wishing a blessed Christmas, the Ambassador praised the 3000 Pakistanis with Christian faith in the Sultanate and acknowledged their immense services and contributions in Interfaith Harmony, Humanitarian, Health & Education Sectors and praised their positive role in furthering Pak-Oman Friendship. Observing that is was a matter of pride and privilege to be invited to the Church and expressing gratitude to Reverend Daniel and Pakistani Christian community, the Ambassador relayed 'Christmas Message' from H.E. the President of Pakistan which acknowledged the great contributions from Pakistani Christians in nation building. The Ambassador presented 'Certificates of Appreciation' for 'Nursing Services to Humanity' to prominent Pakistanis namely Olga David, Nasreen Anwar and Zeenat Noel along with an Indian national, Savita Sharma. In 2017, The Ambassador was invited to 'Christmas Banquet' and 'Easter Mass', by Urdu Congregation of PCO. Pakistanis with Christian faith established "Church of Pakistan" in Salahah a deacde ago whereas the foundations for 'Protestant Church of Oman' were laid by 'Bishop of Lahore', Thomas Valpy French, who arrived in Muscat for his final missionary work on February 8th, 1891 and passed away 3 months later on May 14, 1891.
