World Health Organization (WHO) is hosting the Ministerial Meeting on "Road to Universal Health Coverage in the Eastern Mediterranean Region" in Salalah, Oman (1100 km southeast of Muscat) from September 3 - 5, 2018. H.E. Ali Javed the Ambassador of Pakistan represented his country at the Event and signed the "Global Compact Document" on behalf of the Government of Pakistan, earlier today. Dr. Sania Nishtar, a renowned Pakistani regarded as a Global Health Expert, appeared as Keynote Speaker at the Plenary Session yesterday, September 3, 2018. She delivered a lecture focusing on Non Communicative Diseases (NCDs). The Session was graced with their eminent presence by H.H. Sayyid Asa'ad bin Tareq Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister on International Relations Affairs and Special Representative of His Majesty, HRH Princess Dina Mired, President-elect of the Union for International Cancer Control from Jordan and H.H. Dr. Mona Fahd bin Mahmoud Al-Said, Assistant Vice Chancellor, Sultan Qaboos University as well as H.E. Dr. Ahmed bin Mohamed bin Obaid Al Saidi, Minister of Health Sultanate of Oman. 20 Member States from the region participated in the Event. Talking to Oman TV, the Ambassador expressed satisfaction at the proceedings and reiterated support for the efforts of the WHO, Oman and all partner countries from the region.
