Celebration of the 70th anniversary of Pakistan's Independence
The Embassy of Pakistan, Rabat, celebrated the 70th anniversary of Pakistan's Independence with full zeal and zest. The flag hoisting ceremony was held at the Embassy on the morning of 14th August 2017. Ambassador Nadir Chaudhri raised the flag of Pakistan to the tune of National Anthem and read out the messages of the President and the Prime Minister to the audience. In subsequent remarks, the Ambassador highlighted the significant achievements of the country since its creation. A number of Pakistanis from Rabat, Casablanca and surrounding cities attended the ceremony.
The Ambassador announced to organise cultural evenings to celebrate Pakistani culture in three cities of the Kingdom of Morocco, including Rabat, Safi and Marrakech, on the occasion of 70th anniversary of Pakistan's independence. The three events included Pakistani Sufi music show and festivals of food and mangoes. In this regard, the Embassy invited a cultural troupe, lead by famous Qawal Mr. Sher Miandad, and arranged mangoes from Pakistan.
The first cultural evening was organized at National Library, Rabat, on 14 August 2017.
The second cultural evening was organized at Hall Atlantide, Safi, on 16 August 2017.
The third cultural evening was organized at Marrakech at Royal theatre on 18 August 2017. H.E. Mr. Abdelfattah Lebjioui, Wali, was Chief Guest of the event.
All the events were attended by a number of Moroccan people, government officials, dignitaries and members of Pakistani community in morocco. The participants appreciated Pakistani culture and enjoyed Pakistani Sufi music, food and mangoes. The Moroccan media also gave massive coverage to these cultural events.
The celebration of Pakistani culture on this prestigious occasion generated enormous goodwill between Pakistan and Morocco, and helped in further strengthening of the existing brotherly relations.
