A 7-member Delegation of Majlis Al Shura (Consultative Assembly), Sultanate of Oman, led by the Chairman H.E. Sheikh Khalid bin Hilal Nasser Al Maawali left for Pakistan on a 4-day visit commencing from September 3 6, 2019. Miss. Kiran Akbar, Charge d' Affaires (a.i) saw off the delegation at Royal Airport of the Sultanate. H.E. Al Maawali is visiting Pakistan on the invitation from his Pakistani counterpart, HE Mr. Asad Qaiser, Speaker National Assembly of Pakistan. This would be the 3rd Parliamentary interaction between Oman and Pakistan since November 2018. Chairman Senate of Pakistan visited Oman last year in November 2018 on the occasion of National Day of Oman while Friendship Group of the Senate of Pakistan from March 17 - 21, 2019. Besides high-level interactions, the delegation is also scheduled to have calls on Speaker National Assembly, Chairman Senate of Pakistan and meetings with the Members of Pak-Oman Parliamentary Friendship Group; Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir; and Adviser on Commerce, Textile, Industry, Production & Investment. The visit will further augment the on-going high-level contacts between the two brotherly nations. While departing, the Hon'ble Chairman expressed his concern on the ongoing human rights crisis in Indian occupied Kashmir (IOK). Pakistan Embassy Muscat September 2, 2019
