Ambassador of Pakistan HE Ali Javed received Reverend Zeresh Daniel earlier today. The Reverend, who was leading a delegation of prominent Pakistanis with Christian faith, conveyed greetings from R.T. Dr. Azad Marshal, Bishop of Raiwind & Associate Bishop of Gulf and Cyprus. The Priest shared the initiative, 'Pray for Pakistan & Hope for Future', which supports the forthcoming July 25 General Elections for Pakistan's Parliament. Observing that the elections were yet another milestone in the political landscape of Pakistan he conducted 'Special Prayer' for their positive outcome. The Ambassador, while acknowledging the historic role Pakistani Christians in gaining sovereignty for Pakistan and consequent services towards nation building, praised their immense contributions for furthering Pak-Oman Friendship and substantive 'relief efforts' in cases of natural calamity in Pakistan. The Ambassador commended Pakistani Christians in Oman for establishing 'Church of Pakistan in Salalah, home to 70,000 Pakistanis, located 1100km south-east of Muscat and recalled that the very foundation for establishing Protestant Church of Oman (PCO) was laid by Bishop of Lahore, Thomas Valpy French, on February 8th, 1891. The Ambassador appreciating the sentiments of national unity, fondly recalled his past participations in Christmas & Easter Celebrations in Muscat and observed that the presence 3000 Pakistani Christians had provided strength and diversity to Pakistanis community overall size is placed in access of 275,000.
