The Embassy of Pakistan Berlin, Germany, hosted an art and music event for the students, locals and diplomats serving in Germany at the Pakistan House, Berlin. The purpose of the said event was to familiarise the guests with the talent Pakistan possesses in both traditional and
performing arts. The Ambassador, Saqlain Syedah, welcomed the guests and noted that Pakistan was gifted with vibrant and talented people and they had proved their talent to the world. She stressed on the need for organising such events in order to create a cross cultural understanding and awareness among the international audience for enabling them recognise and appreciate Pakistani talent and to dispel the misconceptions allegedly linked to the country’s name.
The talk was followed by an exciting exhibition of traditional truck art, with a contemporary style on display for the guests. The guests also took keen interest in the vibrantly coloured items displayed and praised the artists for their work.
The guests were immensely amused by the beautiful music performance by Sitar maestro Ustad Ashraf Sharif Khan and his German friends who had successfully performed across the European region and earned name for their beautiful fusion music by combining mesmerizing “Sitar” with Jazz and contemporary music. The Kathak dance performances from the Pakistani dancer Adnan Jahangir was also hugely admired by the audience.
The guests appreciated the artists for their excellent performance and expressed their pleasure for being a part of such an amazing event, which portrayed colours, dance and tunes from Pakistan.
The Ambassador underscored that the Embassy is committed to organize such events in future for projecting Pakistan’s image.
