PRESS RELEASE
The Embassy of Pakistan in Niamey organized an Essay and Speech Competition on 30 June 2026 as part of the Government of Pakistan's year-long celebrations marking the 150th Birth Anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah (1876–2026). The event brought together government officials, representatives of academia, university students, media personnel, members of the Pakistani community, and friends of Pakistan.
The programme commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by welcome remarks highlighting the significance of the year-long commemorative celebrations and the enduring legacy of the Founder of Pakistan.
The competition, held on the theme "Unity, Faith and Discipline," attracted enthusiastic participation from students of various universities across Niger. Participants submitted their essays electronically, after which a panel constituted by the Embassy evaluated the entries. The shortlisted participants were invited to present their essays before the audience, demonstrating a thoughtful understanding of Quaid-e-Azam's vision and the continued relevance of his guiding principles.
On the occasion, the Charge d'Affaires (a.i.) delivered a presentation on the life, leadership, vision, and enduring legacy of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. The presentation highlighted his constitutional struggle for the rights of the Muslims of the subcontinent, his pivotal role in the creation of Pakistan, and his vision for a democratic, inclusive, and progressive state founded on the principles of Unity, Faith, and Discipline.
At the conclusion of the event, certificates of participation and appreciation were presented to the participants in recognition of their outstanding essays and speeches. The event provided an important platform for academic engagement while promoting greater awareness of Quaid-e-Azam's ideals among the youth.
The ceremony concluded with special prayers for the continued peace, stability, progress, and prosperity of Pakistan.
