On the occasion of the 76^th anniversary of Pakistan's Independence, a flag-hoisting ceremony was held at Embassy of Pakistan, Rabat (Morocco) on 14^thAugust 2023. Resident Ambassadors, members of diplomatic corps, Military Attaches and notable community members attended the event. The Justice Minister of Morocco, H.E. Mr.Abdellatif Ouahbi was the Chief Guest of the ceremony. Advisor to Morocco's  Prime Minister H.E. Mr.Kadmiri was also present in the event. A flag hoisting ceremony was held at the Embassy premises. Ambassador of Pakistan H.E. Hamid Asghar Khan hoisted the flag, read the message of the Prime Minister of Pakistan on the auspicious occasion of Independence Day, and conveyed his greetings to an applauding audience. The national anthems of Pakistan and Morocco were also played during the ceremony, reflecting the continued special place that Morocco holds for Pakistan. In his remarks, the Ambassador spoke about the significance of the Day of Independence in Pakistan’s history and the epic struggle of our forefathers that led to the creation of Pakistan. The Ambassador also presented a shield bearing an image of the passport, the Government of Pakistan presented to Mr.Ahmed Balafrej in 1952, in remembrance of deep sated bilateral ties between both countries. The shield was presented to the Hon'ble Justice Minister at the end of the ceremony. The ceremony concluded on the note that Pakistan and Morocco continue to be partners of mutual interest, and that Morocco's development strides in all fields, particularly tourism, agriculture, food security and geo-strategic positioning, are  worth emulating for the developing world. The community and members of the diplomatic corps also voiced their hope for smooth political transition in Pakistan, a country blessed with immense natural resources and human resource potential.
