Due to recent spread of COVID-19 in Oman, the Supreme Committee ordered lockdown of certain areas of Muscat as part of preventive measure. Pakistan Embassy, in view of the critical situation of Pakistan Nationals residing in lockdown areas, started a Food Assistance Campaign to provide humanitarian assistance during this difficult time. In view of dire need of food, Ambassador of Pakistan to Oman immediately mobilized the Pakistani Community to help needy families living in the lockdown areas of Muscat. Pakistani philanthropist and prominent Community Members donated huge quantity of food items. Food packets containing 10kg Flour, 5 kg Rice, 2 Litres of Cooking Oil, 5 kg Pulses, 2 kg Sugar, 1 kg Dry Milk and 250 gm of Tea were distributed through community volunteers. The campaign lasted for 3 days under the permission given by Omani authorities. The Mission successfully provided food relief to more than 5500 individuals and is continuing its efforts to support the Pakistani Community. Embassy of Pakistan ~ Muscat April 12, 2020
