HE Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Pakistan is accorded a warm welcome by his Omani counterpart, HE Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah upon arrival at Muscat, a short while ago. Honorable Minister is leading a 12-member delegation of Technical Experts representing sectors of bilateral cooperation falling under the purview of Joint Commission whose 7th Session will be Co-Chaired by the two Foreign Ministers on January 31st followed with 'Signing Ceremony' of bilateral Accords. The outreach is high on substance and deep on impact considering Foreign Minister Qureshi's schedule that includes meetings with Hon'ble Deputy Prime Minister His Highness Sayyid Fahd Bin Mahmood Al-Said, Minister for Royal Office General Na'mani in addition to convening 'Strategic Consultations' with HE Alawi, a joint interaction with Chairman Pak-Oman Investment Company HE Yahya Jabri and Executive President State General Reserve Fund HE Abdulsalam al Murshidi. During his 3 days of bilateral visit (January 29-31), the Hon'ble Foreign Minister will participate in a mega reception for Pakistani Community. The Event will showcase colorful performances by a Troupe and Band of 50 school children from Pakistan School Muscat and Beacon House representing diverse cultural heritage and National Anthem. A total of 750 guests have been invited for the occasion. In excess of 50 Pakistanis and Omanis and other nationalities will be presented 'Certificates of Appreciation' for their contributions to Pak-Oman Friendship. Speaking on the occasion, the Ambassador of Pakistan HE Ali Javed expressed great enthusiasm on behalf of all sections of the 272,000 Pakistani community adding that every color in our spectrum in Oman will be present during the Community Event. The Ambassador observed that HE Qureshi is a renowned, veteran politician, buoyed with 35 years of experience in statecraft whereas the depth and dimension of his current outreach would augment strength to the core pillars of bilateral cooperation. The Ambassador also noted that the visiting dignitary will record 8 interviews with Live TV, Newspaper, Radio and Online media outlets and interact with Omani Civil Society.
