His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Ali Sirohey, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Niger, received a delegation of Rectors from Nigerien universities on Tuesday, August 27, 2024. Led by Mr. Abdoulaye Sanda Maiga, the delegation expressed their gratitude to the Ambassador for organizing the previous visit to Pakistan in August 2024, which resulted in the signing of several Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with Pakistani private universities, particularly in the fields of health sciences, technology, and agricultural research.
The delegation was informed about strategic sectors in education and science that could enable Nigerien universities and institutes to collaborate effectively and train their candidates in practical research in sciences and agriculture. These sectors are crucial for enhancing Niger’s academic and technical capacities.
The open and constructive discussions led to the decision to organize a future visit by a significant delegation of Nigerien Rectors to prestigious universities and research centers in Pakistan. This visit is part of a strengthened cooperation framework aimed at promoting academic excellence and encouraging scientific innovation in Niger.
