(Tokyo, 05 February, 2026; Observing Kashmir Solidarity Day, the Ambassador of Pakistan in Japan, Mr. Abdul Hameed, reaffirmed the moral and diplomatic support of his country for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). He underscored their claim to self-determination as a right based on United Nations Security Council resolutions. Addressing members of the Pakistani diaspora and Japanese guests at the Embassy of Pakistan in Tokyo, he described the Kashmiri cause as a long-standing dispute on the agenda of the United Nations requiring a just and peaceful settlement.
Messages from the President, the Prime Minister and the Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister of Pakistan were read out, reiterating Pakistan’s principled stance and urging renewed international engagement to advance an equitable resolution of the issue.
The event also featured a photographic exhibition portraying the violations of human rights, crimes against humanity, and humanitarian consequences of the security situation in IIOJK.
Pakistan, the ambassador said, would continue to raise the Kashmir question in international forums and to advocate for a process that enables the Kashmiri people to determine their future freely and peacefully.
