HE Ali Javed, Ambassador of Pakistan to Oman and Captain Mohamed Ahmed, Chief Executive Officer Salam Air, have met at latter's Office and conducted a cake cutting ceremony to welcome Salam Air's prospective operations to Multan. On the occasion, both also discussed matters of mutual interest and praised the unprecedented rise in the trajectory of bilateral cooperation in Aviation Services. Expressing his contentment over the overwhelming response to Salam Air's Muscat-Multan flight, Captain Ahmed affirmed that he remained deeply committed to furthering the scope of Salam Air's operations to Pakistan. Recalling that history was made on December 1, 2016 when PIA connected Salalah (1100kms South of Muscat) on direct flights to Pakistan, the Ambassador observed that Salam Air was an excellent addition to the travelling options. Salam Air shall henceforth commence 3 weekly flights to Multan, otherwise known as the 'City of Sufi Saints', effective February 8, 2018. Salam Air is already flying 3 weekly flights each to Sialkot & Karachi since May 16, 2017. Muscat-Multan Sector had been a long standing demand of the passengers between the two countries. It became operational only since December 1, 2017 when Shaheen Air, a private airline from Pakistan, won the rights to fly the Sector. Salam Air, Sultanate of Oman's newly established "low-budget carrier" shall now have 9 out of a total of 67 weekly flights between Pakistan and Oman shared among Oman Air (30), Salam Air (9), PIA (16), Shaheen (10) and Air Blue (2). "Unprecedented and highest frequencies solidly substantiate bilateral friendship and shall augment tourism, people-to-people exchanges in addition to providing diverse and competitive flying options to the public", the Ambassador added.
