H.E. Ali Javed, Ambassador of Pakistan to Sultanate of Oman hosted a Diplomatic Reception to mark 'Pakistan Day' with Their Excellencies Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Abdullah Al-Salmi and Shaikh Khalid bin Omer bin Said Al-Marhoon, Ministers for Awqaf & Religious Affairs and Civil Service, respectively, gracing the occasion as Chief Guest and Guest of Honor whereas Their Excellencies Majid bin Saed bin Salim Al-Rawahi and Mahfouz bin Humood bin Hamad Al Wahaibi, represented Upper House and Muhammad bin Salim bin Khaleefa Al-Busaidi and Salim bin Nasir bin Saed Al-Kahali represented the Lower House. Their Excellencies Sheikh Hilal bin Marhoon Al-Maamari, Nasir bin Muhammad bin Khaleefa Al-Busaidi, and Ahmad bin Khamis Al-Jamri, Chief West Asia, chief Protocoal and Chief ME Division represented the Foreign Ministry respectively whereas as Brigadier General Saad bin Juma' bin Muhammad Al-Farsi (Army), Commodore Marhoon bin Mansoor bin Marhoon Al-Riyami (Navy) represented the Armed Forces in addition to Diplomatic Corps, Pakistani, Omani civil societies, businessmen, Public and Private media. The prestigious Event was held in the Gardens of Crowne Plaza with live BBQ Grills showcasing the world renowned flavors of Pakistan whereas Pakistani Mandarin, which has won a special place in Oman was on display and served freshly squeezed, to the 300 guests. Earlier, an unprecedented Reception to mark 'Pakistan Day' aboard Pakistan Navy Ship 'ALAMGIR', exclusively commissioned to host 200 guest was held in Salalah, 1100 kms from Muscat, on March 21. Captain Nasir Bin Saif Al Shabibi, Chief Salalah Navy Unit represent the Oman at the Event at Chief Guest. Pakistan Embassy, Pakistani institutions and the Pakistanis residing across the Sultanate of Oman have organised a diverse, full spectrum celebration of 'Pakistan Day' lasting nearly a month with traditional zeal and fervor. Taking the lead on March 16 were Pakistani Engineers and families from Petroleum Development Oman hosting a 'Pakistan Day' Spring Festival attended by 2,000 persons, boosted with electrifying performance by children from Pakistan School Seeb, presenting cultural heritage of our Provinces and Oman. To add further diversity and depth to 'Pakistan Day' celebrations, the Omani Society of Fine Arts in collaboration with a team of volunteering Pakistanis is showcasing an exhibition of 20 Pakistani Artists including contemporary and miniature paintings from April 2-12. The 7 branches of Pakistan School System, Beaconhouse School and City School, Pakistani institutions ie Pakistan Social Club, PIA, HBL, Air Blue, Shaheen Air organized individual Events. A Special Supplement with support from Pakistani and Omani business community was carried by leading newspapers. There are 272,000 Pakistanis residing in Oman accounting for 5th largest expat community worldwide. The unprecedented depth and diversity of the month long celebrations of 'Pakistan Day' across the Sultanate reflects their immense contributions to promoting Pakistan and furthering bilateral friendship with Oman.
