










Niamey 23rd March 2025: The Embassy of Pakistan celebrated Pakistan Day on March 23rd with great fervour and enthusiasm. The day marked the 85th anniversary of the Pakistan Resolution, which was adopted on March 23, 1940.
In the morning a solemn flag-hoisting ceremony was held at the Embassy premises. Charge d'Affaires (a.i) Mr. Nadeem Ahmad raised the national flag, marking the occasion in the presence of Pakistani community members and embassy officials.
Special messages from the President, Prime Minister, and Deputy Prime Minsiter/Foreign Minister of Pakistan were read out, paying tribute to the country's founding fathers, particularly Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. The leadership reiterated their commitment to the principles of justice, equality, and sovereignty, while also expressing solidarity with the Palestinian people.
In the evening, the Embassy hosted a reception/Iftar cum-dinner at the Radisson Blue Hotel, Niamey. Mr Bakary Yaou SANGARÉ, Minister for Foreign Affairs was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The reception was attended by Ambassadors, High Commissioners, members of diplomatic corps, senior officials from host Government including the Foreign office. Nigerien businessmen, civil society, media and members of the Pakistani diaspora in Niger in large numbers attended.
The ceremony started with the playing of National anthems of Pakistan and Niger. The documentaries were played. Speaking on the occasion, Charge d’Affaires (a.i) Mr. Nadeem Ahmad briefed the guests about the significance of 23rd March in Pakistan’s history. He also noted the coincidence of Pakistan's creation with the Holy month of Ramadan, underscoring the country's spiritual foundations. Mr. Ahmad highlighted the potential for further strengthening the bilateral relationship between Pakistan and Niger.
A cake cutting ceremony was held on the occasion. Following the ceremony, Iftar dinner, including Pakistan and local cuisine was served to all guests.
The ceremony concluded with prayers for Pakistan's peace, progress, and prosperity, as well as for the well-being of the global Muslim community.
