Embassy at its premises observed Kashmir Solidarity Day with national fervor and zeal. The Event was attended by a large number of Pakistani Community members residing in Muscat and surrounding areas, local Omani dignitaries and Social Media Activists. The proceedings started with the recitation from the Holy Quran followed by a motivated speech on Kashmir by a student of Pakistani School Muscat. The Mission also screened a documentary about ongoing brutalities in Indian Occupied Jammu & Kashmir and efforts undertaken by the Government and our leadership for sensitizing international community to address worsening human rights situation in IoJ&K. On the occasion, the Ambassador of Pakistan read out the messages of the President and Prime Minister. In his remarks, he highlighted the sacrifices made by the people of Jammu and Kashmir and Pakistan’s role in providing moral, political and diplomatic support to just cause of Kashmiri people. He further stated that Pakistan will continue its role in supporting the right of self-determination to the people of Jammu & Kashmir. He impressed upon the community members to remain united and reach out Omani friends to create awareness about the suffering of Kashmiri brethren. He also called upon the Social Media Activists to aggressively cover the Kashmiri freedom movement and expose Indian brutalities against them. In the end, special prayers were offered for the people of Jammu & Kashmir who have lost their lives in their freedom struggle and for the success to achieve their right to self-determination.   Pakistan Embassy ~ Muscat February 5, 2020
