Pakistan's Envoy to Oman Ali Javed welcomed HH Sayyid Faris Fatik Al Said at the 'Pakistan Festival', along with 22 Artists, Performers, Intellectuals, Academicians, Authors and TV Anchors from Pakistan at the mega cultural Event Hii Highness Faris Fatik Al Said praised the historical ties between the two "brotherly neighbors' and admired the services and contributions of the Pakistani Community. The Ambassador observed that Pakistani community had extended their complete support to the ownership of the historical ties and remained steadfast in their commitment to furthering the bridges of friendship. He thanked the Partners and Participants for making the occasion unprecedented with their performances. Omani sensation Haitham Rafi won the hearts of the audience with singing 'Shukriya Pakistan' an int'l hit by Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. The master of 'ghazal singing' Ustad Hamid Ali Khan and the rising prince of 'Sitar' a classic instrument like guitar with 7 strings, Wajieh Nizami, then mesmerized the audience with their performances. Qamar Riaz was designated as 'Honorary Event Coordinator' whereas 'Alpha Events' was Event Organiser. Qamar marshalled a team of 2 dozen volunteers including veteran Marawat Ahmad who all tirelessly worked together to making the Event both historic and a resounding success also streamed the proceedings live. The entire cost of the Event was wholly supported by numerous partners and was organized at the prestigious Oman Convention Center. All guests had been provided free passes upon registration. 5 lucky winners left with Salam Air tickets to Pakistan. Ambassador prayed for His Majesty's health and happiness and expressed gratitude for hosting 275,000 Pakistanis. The program thus holds distinction as being the largest and most unprecedented in Oman especially when seen in the context of 'Renaissance Day' celebrations and was a befitting and glowing tribute to His Majesty.
