To commemorate the auspicious occasion of the 85th National Day of Pakistan, the Embassy of Pakistan in Kuwait hosted a reception on 24th June 2025. H.E. Khalifa Abdullah Dhahi Ajeel Al-Askar, Minister of Commerce and Industry of the State of Kuwait, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
The event was attended by over 350 distinguished guests, including members of the ruling family, senior Kuwaiti civilian and military officials, business leaders, media representatives, members of the diplomatic corps, and prominent members of the Pakistani community. The ceremony commenced with the national anthems of Pakistan and Kuwait. The Chief Guest, along with the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, participated in the traditional cake-cutting ceremony.
In his address, Ambassador Dr. Zafar Iqbal highlighted the historical importance of the National Day and the enduring friendship between Pakistan and Kuwait. He praised Kuwait’s wise, balanced, and principled foreign policy, particularly its emphasis on dialogue, restraint, and peaceful resolution of conflicts. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for Kuwait’s efforts to promote peace and stability in the region and beyond.
The Ambassador also expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait, especially the Asian Affairs Department, for their continuous support and visionary leadership in fostering stronger bilateral cooperation.
Pakistan and Kuwait enjoy deep-rooted historical ties, characterized by mutual support and close collaboration. Economic and investment relations between the two countries have witnessed significant growth in recent years. The contribution of the 93,000-strong Pakistani community in Kuwait remains vital to the country’s development, and cooperation in the human resource sector is expected to expand further in the near future.
