The MoU for Parliamentary Cooperation has been inked between HE Dr. Yahya bin Mahfoodh al Manthri, Chairman State Council (Upper House) and HE Mr. Sadiq Sanjrani, Chairman Senate on November 19th on the margins of latter's ongoing bilateral visit to the Sultanate. Following the signature's ceremony delegation level talks were held between the two Senates. On the occasion, HE Dr. Manthri observed that the MoU launches new avenues of cooperation and added that visit of Senate of Pakistan coincides with 48th National Day of Oman which augments significance and value. Separately, talks were also convened with the Consultative Council (Lower House) whose delegation was led by HE Khalid bin Hilal bin Nasser Al Maawaly, Chairman Consultative Council (Speaker). At the conclusion of proceedings, Urdu version of the 470-paged autobiography on Sultan Qaboos titled, "Sultan & Sultanate" written by Mr. Sultan Alhattab, a Jordanian national, translated in Urdu by Mr. Ameer Hamza, a Pakistani resident of Muscat, was presented to HE Manthri by HE Sanjarani. The 1st copy of the book, which includes a chapter on Pak-Oman relations, was presented earlier in the day to His Highness Sayyid Asa'ad bin Tariq Al Said, Personal Representative of His Majesty & Deputy Prime Minister. Both sides have concurred to convene the inaugural session of Oman Pakistan Friendship Group in Islamabad during mutually convenient dates in 2019 and further concurred to maintain the soaring trajectory of highest level of political and parliamentary exchanges to serve both nations.
