General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan arrived in the Sultanate last evening for a bilateral visit. The delegation was received at the Military Airbase by the Ambassador of Pakistan and Chief of Military Staff & Public Relations of Sultan's Armed Forces. A Dinner Reception was hosted later in the evening by the Chief of Staff Sultan's Armed Forces General Ahmed bin Harith bin Nasseer Al-Nabhani. The Event was marked with sentiments of mutual affinity and was reflective of the historical and brotherly relations. Today, General Bajwa was accompanied with General Nabhani during his call on the Minister Responsible for Defense H.E. Sayyid Badr bin Saud bin Harib Al-Busaidi and held a very constructive meeting during which both dignitaries praised existing trust and historical bond and affirmed their commitment to furthering Defence, Military and Security Cooperation and to promote peace as mean of prosperity for the region. He was subsequently hosted for a working lunch by the Chief of Royal Oman Air Force. The bilateral visit affords both States an opportunity to renew contacts among their Armed Forces at the highest level as well as hold a full spectrum dialogue over the existing and prospective mutual cooperation and exchange views on promoting regional peace and prosperity. Pakistan and Oman, both strategically located, individually and collectively, are maritime neighbours with their Gwadar and Muscat Ports separated by a mere 202 nautical miles.
