Pakistan's Envoy to Oman HE Ali Javed, Ambassadorvisited Buraimi (bordering UAE), to mark the conclusion of month-long celebrations of 'Pakistan Day' across Oman. The Envoy was welcomed by Zahran Bin Mohammed Al Nabhani, Director Ministry of Culture & Heritage and Mohammad Shah Sheerani, designated as 'Advisor to Ambassador for Pashtun-Baloch Community' by HE Foreign Minister Qureshi's in January 2019. Other Omanis present on the occasion included Mohammad Suleman & Abdullah bin Hamd Al Azzani, Engr. Salim bin Rashid and Saif bin Abeid al Jabri and Khalid bin Nasir al Saidi. The proceedings commenced from visiting "Sa'arani", a 1200 years old underground water canal, locally called 'falaj', running 10 meters beneath earth's surface to transfer spring water from source to nearby human concentration. Talibal Jabri, a local heronarrated his inspiration behind restoration of falaj and paid tribute to a handful Pakistanis that believed in him and assisted him in the task. HE Javed spent an hour traversing through the pristine waters underground and became second Envoy in Oman, following Egypt, to visit Sa'aranifalaj. The Ambassador underlining the 1200-1500 years old falajas testimony to advance knowledge and skills acquired by our fore fathers, observed that we could draw parallels in preserving our common heritage dating back 5000 years to 'Indus Valley Civilization of 'Mohen-jo Daro' in Sindh - Pakistan, linked scientifically,to recent discoveries of artefacts from Hajar Mountain in Oman. Following a luncheon hosted by Mr. Sheerani for 75 guests on site at Sa'arani, the Ambassador visited "Khandaq Fort" which opened its doors to public last year following 4 years' renovations. The Ambassador then participated in 'Community Event' organized by Mr. Sheerani and Pashtun-Baloch Community. Highlighting the vision of PM Imran Khan to serve overseas Pakistanis and promote peace and friendship in the world, the Ambassador addressed capacity audience of 600 guests and appreciated their overwhelming support. It is recalled that during Ambassador's first visit to the city in August 2016, Governor Buriami HE Ibrahim Al Busaidiinaugurated Pakistan School where 250 students are currently enrolled.
