During his recent visit to Sultanate of Oman, Pakistani Minister for Interior as well as for Planning, Development & Reforms, HE Ahsan Iqbal commended the talents and exuberance of Pakistani youths across the Sultanate and termed them as future leaders of Pakistan and Ambassadors of Pak-Oman friendship. The Minister appreciated the unity among Pakistani diaspora and highlighted their diversity as a core strength. He hailed outreach initiatives i.e., 'Embassy WhatsApp Broadcast' (12000+subscribers) and E-Bank (11000+ subscribers). He praised community-based 'Young Pakistan Forum Oman' (www.ypfo.pk) an online platform to synergize Pakistani and Omani youths. YPFO is powered by enterprising Pakistanis and is set to launch 'Youth Empowerment Strategy' (YES) foreseeing, among others, 'Lecture Series' (LS 1.0) whose inaugural session will be delivered by CEO Salam Air to 300 students at PSM tomorrow. The Minister distributed 'Certificates of Excellence' to Ms. Shehrbano Hassan for securing 1st position in Policy Paper on Nuclear Safety at UN Model Summit (Dubai 2016); Dua Masood, 8A* (O-Level) and Mawiya Sana, 8A* & 1A in IGCSE as well as standing 4th in Maths & 7th in Physics globally. Ayesha Shaheen Afridi, 1st Position from Oman Public Schools (2017 -96.77%) and Areene Sobia Shahood (GCSE 94.11%). Both received scholarships under Cultural & Scientific Cooperation for 2017-18. Ayesha Afridi also stood 1ST in Quran Recitation from 6000 students in a national competition hosted last year. Ahmad Abdul Hamid, Rasil Ahmed (Special Child) and Afra Ubaid were acknowledged for winning "Sketch Sultan" and "Draw Jinnah" competitions. Saima Altaf, Arts Teacher Special Education School (Pakistan School Muscat- PSM) acknowledged for meritorious services to children with special needs. Other recipients included Fiza Javed for selection into National Women Cricket Team, Ubaid Ullah Khan, Adeel Abbas and Saqib Aslam selection in Under-19 Cricket Team of Oman and Muzahir Raza, Captain Pakistan School Seeb Cricket Team, for record setting performances.
