Ambassador Hassan Afzal Khan assumed charge as the Ambassador of Pakistan to Argentina on Jan 04, 2024. He is accredited with Chile, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay. Ambassador Hassan was most recently serving as the Consul General of Pakistan (2021-2023) in Dubai. He has served in the Embassy of Pakistan in Berlin (2003-2009), the High Commission of Pakistan in Pretoria (2011-2014), and the Embassy of Pakistan in Hanoi (2014-2017).

At the Headquarters, Ambassador Hassan has worked as Assistant Director (Audit) in 2002, Director (National Assembly & Senate Affairs) from 2009 to 2011, Director (Europe) from 2017 to 2018 and Director (Personnel-II) in 2019. He also served as the Director General (ECO & CARs) in 2019, Director General (Protocol) from 2020-2021 and Director General (Strategic Communication Division) in 2023.

Born in 1976, Ambassador Hassan joined the Foreign Service of Pakistan in 2002. He holds a Bachelor’s degree. He is married, blessed with two children.
