His Excellency Aamir Shouket holds a Master's degree in International Affairs from Australian National University. He joined the Foreign Service of Pakistan in 1994 and has since built an extensive diplomatic career spanning more than three decades. At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad, he served in various capacities, including Assistant Director (1994–1999), Deputy Director (2003–2004), Director (2006–2007 and 2018–2019), and Director General (2019–2021). His overseas diplomatic assignments included postings in Athens (1999–2003), Dhaka (2007–2010) and The Hague (2010–2013). From 2013 to 2018, he was on deputation with the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), where he served as Deputy Chief of Cabinet to the Director-General. He later served as Ambassador of Pakistan to Switzerland from 2021 to 2025 before assuming his current responsibilities as Ambassador of Pakistan to Egypt in March 2025.
