Mr. Zahid Ahmed Khan Jatoi assumed charge as the Consul General of Pakistan in Bradford on 7th October, 2023. Mr. Jatoi’s last appointment at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was as the Director General (Policy Planning). Prior to that he served in various administrative and political roles in multilateral diplomacy at the Headquarters as Assistant Director (Establishment), Assistant Director (UN Division), Assistant Director (Human Rights & Security Council), Director (SAARC), Director (Audit), Director (Consular Affairs) and Director(Policy Planning).
His diplomatic assignments abroad include serving as the Vice Consul at the Consulate General of Pakistan, Dubai (2009-2010), Second Secretary at the Embassy of Pakistan Harare, Zimbabwe (2010-2012), First Secretary at the High Commission of Pakistan, London (2014-2017) and Counsellor at the High Commission of Pakistan Port Louis, Mauritius (2017-2021).
He represented Pakistan as a delegate at various international fora including the United Nations Human Rights Council, Geneva, Switzerland (2008), 4th ASEM Interfaith Dialogue at Amsterdam, Netherlands (2008), and SAARC Gender Equality and Women Empowerment Conference at Male, Maldives (2013). He also led Pakistan’s delegation at UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage Convention at Port Louis, Mauritius (2018).
Mr. Jatoi holds a Master’s Degree in Political Science from University of Sindh and he is also an alumnus of the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi, the Clingendael Institute of International Relations, Netherlands, and the American University in Cairo, Egypt.
