Attestation of Documents/Declaration
Documents issued from Pakistan
- The Embassy will only attest a Pakistani document, if it bears the prior attestation of the Consular Section, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad or any of its Camp Office in Karachi/Quetta/Lahore/Peshawar. The Embassy may refer any document to the concerned authorities in Pakistan to verify authenticity of document if deemed necessary.
- Photocopy of any document will only be attested on presentation of its original document.
- The Embassy will attest the marital status related documents after obtaining verification from concerned authorities in Pakistan.
- For attestation of a Power of Attorney, the executant(s) has to be present in person along with a photo ID (CNIC/NICOP) to sign the Power of Attorney before the designated Consular Officer of the Embassy.
- A photograph of the executant should be affixed on Power of Attorney along with signatures and CNIC photocopies of two witnesses on it.
Please note the validity of the attestation of Power of Attorneys documents is 120 days.
- Academic Documents from Pakistan: Original academic documents to be attested first from Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (for BA and above), and from Inter Board Committee of Chairman (for F.A. and below), then by Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad, or from its respective Camp Offices in Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar and Quetta.
In case the applicant needs a declaration for confirmation of his/her particulars (Name, date of birth, place of birth, name of father and mother) from the Embassy he/she needs to give an application (Please download Form-A), duly notarized, clearly stating the purpose for which it is required along with his relevant personal documents.
In case applicant wants to confirm his/her name of mother, he/she has to provide his/her birth certificate/FRC issued by NADRA reflecting his/her name of mother thereof.
Documents issued from Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia, Guyana, Suriname and Venezuela
The Embassy will only attest a document issued by authorities from Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia, Guyana Suriname and Venezuela if it bears the prior attestation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the respective country.
The Embassy may refer any document to the authorities concerned for verification prior to its attestation.
