Renewal of MRP
Renewal of Machine-Readable Passport has the same procedure as applying for new one with all required documents.
Requirements/Procedure for Lost MRP/Manual Passport
Applications for lost passport are processed after verification of particulars by the passport issuing authority. Other requirements are:
Collection of Machine-Readable Passports
MRP can be collected in person during working hours along with the token number (receipt) and Identification Card. Applicants need to collect their passports IN PERSON. However, one family member can come to collect the MRPs issued for all his / her family members.
If an applicant wants to have his passport through post, he may bring pre-paid self-addressed Return envelope with his home address, at the time of submission of application. (The Embassy will, however, not be responsible if passport is misplaced/lost by courier or post).
*The receipt of MRP from Islamabad sometimes is delayed due to technical problems.
All applicants are advised to collect their passports by the due date. The Embassy will not be responsible for misplacement if Passports are not collected within three months after the collection date.
Important Public Notice For MRP
Machine Readable Passport (MRP) services are entirely based on technical system, and sometimes that system can abruptly breakdown due to sudden unforeseen technical failure. In such situation, MRP services are discontinued without any notice. Therefore, applicants who come on that day to the Embassy for MRP will have to come on another day when the MRP system is restored and functional.
Cooperation of the applicants in such extra ordinary circumstances is highly appreciated.
