The Embassy of Pakistan has a well-established Consular Section, which provides all sorts of consular facilities to the Pakistani diaspora. The following consular services are provided in the Consulate:

• Attestation of documents, like birth certificate, marriage certificate, Police character certificate, educational certificates
• Power of Attorneys processing/countersigning
• Affidavits processed/countersigned
• Renunciation of nationality cases are processed
• Issuance of letters to local authorities, i.e. father/mother name letter for renunciation of nationality, women name change after marriage, name verification, passport lost letter, Ayuda letter, name verification letter
• Authority letters submitted by overseas Pakistani authorising their nominated persons to process their character certificates and other documents on their behalf in Pakistan
• Birth Registration of Pakistani children born overseas (S-I)

Guidelines / Requirements for Attestation of Documents

Attestation of Power of Attorney/Authority letter/Mukhtar-Nama/Affidavit

• Requisite text should be printed on a paper/stamp-paper along with its photocopies (two sets required).
• In the case of the Spanish nationals, it should be attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kingdom of Spain.
• Attach photocopies of NICOP / CNIC, Passport & NIE of the applicant and the person to whom POA is being given.
• A copy of the ownership papers of the property (In the case of a Power of Attorney for property).
• Presence of two witnesses along with their Identification Documents like NIEs & CNICs
• Photocopies of NICOP / CNIC & NIE of the witnesses.
• Applicant will sign and affix thumb impression in the presence of the Consulate’s authorised officer.

Attestation of Power of Attorney Executed from Pakistan

• Power of attorney issued from Pakistan should be attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan or its Camp Offices could be countersigned at the Embassy of Pakistan, Madrid.
• Documents required:
  • A copy of the power of attorney (for the record of the Embassy),
  • Copies of CNIC/NICOP, Passport and NIE,
  • The presence of the concerned individual is required.

Attestation of Nakah Nama / Marriage / Birth Certificates

• Original Nakah Nama / Marriage Certificate / Birth Certificates should be attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad or its Camp Offices in Quetta/Karachi/Peshawar/Lahore/Gujrat (Pakistan)
• In the case of Spain, they should be attested by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation

Attestation of Translated Nikah-Nama

• Spanish Translation of the Nikah-Nama should be attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad or its camp offices in Quetta/Karachi/Peshawar/Lahore (Pakistan).
• Spanish translation of the Marriage Certificate should be translated by a registered Translator of the Kingdom of Spain and countersigned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kingdom of Spain, along with its photocopy.
• Copies of CNIC / NICOP / Passport and NIE.
• A copy of the original Marriage Certificate.

Divorce Paper/Talaq-Nama

• Requisite text should be printed on a plain / legal paper along with its photocopy.
• Attach a copy of Nikah Nama/Marriage Certificate and three Photos.
• Attach copies of CNICs/NICOPs, Passports and NIE.
• Applicant will sign and affix thumb impression in the presence of the Embassy’s authorized officer.

Educational Documents

• Original academic documents need to be attested first by HEC or IBCC, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad, or from its respective Camp Offices in Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar and Quetta.
• Copies of educational documents for the record of the Consulate.
• Copies of CNIC / NICOP / Passport and NIE.

All other Pakistani documents

• All other Pakistani documents should be attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad or its camp offices in Karachi/Quetta/Lahore/Peshawar.

All other Spanish documents

• All other Spanish documents should be attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kingdom of Spain.

Note:        Doubtful documents will be referred to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad or its camp offices in Lahore/Karachi/Quetta/Peshawar for verification (Applicant would be informed accordingly).

ETD Requirement

• In cases of emergency or voluntary return, the Embassy can issue an Emergency Travel Document (ETD). The requirements are as follows:
  • Original valid Pakistani CNIC and a copy
  • Pakistani Passport and a copy
  • Spanish Resident Card and copy
  • 2 colour Photographs
  • Confirmed Ticket
  • Handwritten application
  • Father/Mother authority letter in case of a minor

NOC for Minors Under the Age of 18 Entering Pakistan on a Visa

• Parents and Child´s Original CNIC, Passports & Resident Cards
• It is mandatory for both parents to attend the embassy for the attestation of the NOC.

Citizenship Renunciation Requirements

• Form “X” duly filled and duly attested by authorized Officer of the Mission on the provided space.
• Write Pakistani Names on Form “X”. (02 copies)
• Copies of Pakistani Passport/ Spanish Passport / Pakistani CNIC / Spanish DNI (02 copies) each
• Passport-size photos of the applicant with a white background 08
• Original latest Pakistani passport.
• Copies of any one document, i.e., NICOP/Birth Certificate/Pakistan Passport of the minor children, in case any. (02 copies)
• Cancel Original Pakistani Identity Card online and bring the cancellation receipt of Nadra along with the NIC. (02 copies)
• Step 1 - Cancel your NICOP online. Download ´¨PAKIDENTITY¨ application from Google App Store. Attest a Nicop cancellation affidavit from the Embassy of Pakistan, Madrid, and upload it along with your Spanish passport to cancel your Nicop. Once your NICOP is cancelled, you have to print out the cancellation receipt and attach it to your passport renunciation file.

CNIC/POC 1st/Renewal/Cancellation from home. Required Documents
